Furniture Care
Regular Cleaning
Always use a soft cloth, lightly dampen to immediately clean up any spills or stains from your furniture. It is also recommended to perform regular cleaning of dust and dirt.
Avoid using harsh cleaning products or scrubbing cloths.
Surface Use
Take care when placing and moving objects upon your furniture as hard/sharp surfaces can cause scratches. Regularly rotate ornaments to ensure the surface of your furniture ages evenly.
Be extra aware if placing indoor plants on your furniture to ensure zero prolonged moisture exposure through the pot or from overwatering as this will cause damage.
Where possible it is recommended to separate the object from the surface of your furniture using felt spaces or similar.
Moisture
Prolonged exposure to any moisture can cause damage to your furniture, immediately clean up spills and avoid uses that expose your furniture to moisture.
Heat
Avoid placing hot object directly onto your furniture, it's recommended to use placemats and drinks coasters for dining to avoid damage.
Avoid placing furniture over heating vents or directly in front of heating sources.
Sun Light
All furniture begins to age with exposure to light. Avoid placing your furniture where it will have prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as this will speed up the aging and corresponding yellowing process.
Repair
Reclaimed hardwood furniture is naturally rich in character. Should your furniture ever require repair, restoration or refinishing, please contact us for a quote. Wherever possible, we will work with you to extend the life of the piece.
Fabric
Stain Resistance
The Raffles Amalfi 100% linen fabric used for your sofa has an antique wash with a stain-resistant finish.
It is recommended to commence your own stain resistant treatments after no more then 2 years.
Regular Cleaning
Undertake regular vacuuming (low suction) of cushions, it is also recommended to employ periodic professional cleaning.
Sun Light
Avoid placing sofas in areas of prolonged direct sunlight as this will cause your fabric to degrade.
Spot Cleaning
Address spills immediately by blotting (never rubbing) with a clean, dry cloth and seek professional advice for any staining.
Warranty
All Chris Jones furniture is covered by a 5 year warranty against structural defects in materials and workmanship. Please read our warranty page for details.
